I wanted to begin teaching with the Hikmah Foundation the moment I heard about it. It’s almost unfathomable: the idea of being forced out of your home and moved frantically into a foreign country. These families are so brave, and after hearing about the struggles they face when trying to integrate back into school, I couldn’t ignore them. I want them to know I’m helping in whatever way I can, and I’ve always had an interest in teaching. Joining this foundation has been such an exciting and rewarding experience, and I would encourage anyone to join as well.
