Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to be a teacher. I started teaching with the Hikmah Foundation because it is a great opportunity to work with kids and watch them grow in so many ways. My favorite part about working with refugee children is seeing how excited they get when something finally makes sense, and watching them persevere through challenges. I would encourage others to join because there is nothing more rewarding than teaching kids. I think that building a relationship with the kids is extremely beneficial for everyone involved. The kids learn that they have someone who believes in them, and tutors feel fulfilled knowing that they get to make a difference in young lives. I am so thankful that I get to be a part of something that helps not only myself, but other people as well!
