A commitment like Hikmah could be mistaken as a tedious task, or a job that one is instructed to complete, but when put in the perspective of these meriting students, the mere sixty minutes on a Sunday is their key to involvement in an environment that seems to be so foreign. It is hard for one to see the silver lining in a place where they feel disconnected and estranged from the people they are obliged to learn from, and I find it important to revive their passion for learning when it is dimmed. I joined The Hikmah Foundation with the means of showing these children that education is not a not something to dread, but rather another step towards a new happiness.
