About Sophie
I started volunteering with the Hikmah Foundation because I saw the organization as an opportunity to help other people in my community. I also enjoy teaching, and so I knew that it would be something I would enjoy and want to be involved with. My favorite part of the experience is definitely being able to see the kids grow as they learn more. All of them want to further their knowledge as they're engaged in every session. I would encourage others to join because I think that it has been a wonderful experience; I have learned a lot about how to work with refugee children and families. Overall, the organization is amazing. All of the other tutors are willing to help whenever, and it's making a positive impact on the world.
